Our Mission

BVRS aims to provide world-class surgery and excellence in patient care to the pets and families of Canberra and surrounding areas. We strive to provide a collaborative specialist service to the primary care veterinarians of this region, fostering a holistic, team-based approach to patient care.

Why Choose BVRS?

Our enthusiastic team is focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. We value the trust you place in us when your dog or cat is referred for specialist care.

BVRS is purposefully small so we can provide a personalised service with continuity of care throughout your pet’s time with us. We work closely with you and your primary care veterinarian to support clear communication, thoughtful planning and a more connected referral experience.

For Pet Owners

If your primary care veterinarian is Kippax Veterinary Hospital, Kaleen Veterinary Hospital, Queanbeyan Veterinary Hospital, Jerrabomberra Veterinary Hospital, Manuka Veterinary Hospital, Molonglo Veterinary Hospital, Weston Woden Veterinary Hospital or Googong Veterinary Hospital, you may not require an additional referral before your appointment with BVRS, as our computer system may be linked to your pet’s patient record and an electronic referral can be received.

If your primary care veterinarian is not listed above, a referral form and medical history are usually required before your appointment. This information is generally emailed from your veterinarian to info@bvrs.com.au.

Visiting BVRS

Although BVRS is currently situated within the Kippax Veterinary Hospital building, we are an independent business. Your pet can access our specialist services and then return to your usual primary care veterinarian for ongoing healthcare needs.

When you arrive at the Kippax Veterinary Hospital building, please phone our team on 0423 939 440 to let us know you are onsite. BVRS has its own reception team, and we will guide you through the next steps.

What to Expect

Your pet’s referral journey may include a consultation, review of medical history, discussion of treatment options, surgery, imaging, physical therapy or post-operative support, depending on their needs.

Our team will explain the recommended plan and provide guidance so you understand what is happening and how to support your pet at home.
