She then started internship and residency in small animal surgery with the ARH team here in Canberra. During the residency Fiona travelled to Colorado State University to work with the surgical oncological team at the Flint Animal Cancer Centre.

Her original research was awarded the Veterinary Arthrology Advancement Association (VA3) resident abstract award as well as best ECVS resident presentation. She was invited to present the findings of her original research at the (VA3) conference in Munich, Germany, as well as attend the ACVS conference in Portland, Oregon.

After completing the residency program Fiona travelled to Zurich, Switzerland and successfully completed her European College of Veterinary Surgery examinations in February 2023.

Fiona is passionate about providing excellent patient care.  She enjoys a wide range of surgery including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, neurosurgery and minimally invasive surgery.

In her time away from work Fiona enjoys spending time with her three daughters and their border collie Judah, who is also known as ‘Jude the Dude’.
